A driver who allegedly caused a four-vehicle crash after running a red light in northeast Minneapolis is on the run after leaving the crash scene on Monday night, according to Minneapolis police. MPD says officers responded just after 8:15 p.m. to the intersection of Lowry Avenue Northeast and University Avenue Northeast for reports of a crash with injuries. Investigators say that the driver of one vehicle drove through a red light and collided with two other vehicles. One of the vehicles that was hit was then pushed into a fourth vehicle, police said. Three people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver that caused the crash then got out of the vehicle and ran away, according to MPD. Police have not announced any arrests. The crash remains under investigation.
