Furry friends and pet lovers alike gathered at Tompkins Square Park last Saturday, Oct. 17, for New York City’s annual Halloween Dog Parade.  This year’s event was sponsored by Kismet, a premium dog food brand founded by stars Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. The two were among the dog lovers in attendance, helping escort furry friends Hop and Cloud down the parade path.  “One of my favorite things about this is most people here are adults and we live in little New York City apartments,” said New York Dog Parade founder Fern Watt. “But we still put together these wild costumes for our dogs and spend time doing that.” Watt founded the nonprofit after a longtime career as a dog advocate and canine author, working to spotlight the special relationship between dogs and humans. The celebration itself, however, dates all the way back to 1990, starting as local dog owners and community members hosting small-scale, dog-friendly Halloween events.  [caption id="attachment_137876582" align="
